R90 000 Raised for Pippie Kruger and Jacaranda FM Good Morning Angels
8th June 2014
Over the past year, Annique Home Office have been hard at work doing their bit for the community by raising more than R90 000 in support of worthy causes including Pippie Kruger, three year old burn victim from Lephalale and Jacaranda Fm Good Morning Angels.
Approximately R30 000 was raised by Annique Consultants, who attended the Gauteng and Cape Town Annique Team Meetings in October and November 2012, in support of Isabella ‘Pippie’ Kruger, the three year old burn victim from Lephalale.
Pippie sustained massive third-degree burns when firelighter gel exploded on New Year’s Eve 2011, on the family’s Limpopo farm. Doctors had little hope that she would survive. After suffering third-degree burn wounds to nearly 80% of her body in January 2012, she received a brand new skin for her third birthday. Pippie made history when her burnt skin was layered with sheets of cloned skin grown from her own cells in a United State laboratory, undergoing approximately 45 operations in the process.
Dr Ridwan Mia, a plastic surgeon at Netcare Garden City Hospital in Johannesburg, said more than 90% of the cloned skin was attached successfully. With the help of several therapists at the Netcare rehabilitation centre in Auckland Park, Pippie received intense physio, speech and occupational therapy to enable her to walk and talk again.
Annique is proud to say that our products were part of the miracle healing of Pippie. Dr Mia allowed Annique Miracle Tissue Oil and Resque Crème to be applied to Pippie’s sensitive skin, to assist in the healing process. Pippie has also been using other Annique products to support her in her time of healing, such as the Lifestyle Shake containing numerous vital nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
In another project initiated by Annique Health and Beauty approximately R60 000 was raised by consultants who attended Annique’s annual gala event, the Première on 16 March 2013, to support the Annique Angel’s Fund. The money raised through the fund will be donated to the Jacaranda Fm Good Morning Angel’s Fund where a worthy recipient will be allocated the generous donation.
Jacaranda Fm Good Morning Angels is a regular Wednesday feature on Jacaranda 94.2 spearheaded by Dianne Broodryk, a presenter at the station, showing the hearts of the stations’ listeners are committed to reaching out and helping everyone in need.
