I survived cancer!

Thank you Annique for your support!

When 34 year old, mother Lizelle Knott was diagnosed with breast cancer 29 January 2014 she was devastated. All the negative emotions of going through chemo came back as this was her second time around. “I had been through chemo for Lymphoma at the age of 17 and I really did not want to go through it again. All the memories of feeling ill and losing my hair came flooding back and I sank into a horrible black hole emotionally.”

Lizelle underwent a single mastectomy and immediate had reconstruction on 13 February 2014. She hoped that all would be well but unfortunately she had to be scheduled for chemotherapy in order to prevent recurrence. “As I am only 34 years old, the chemo is a necessity and there was no way I was going to get away without it.”

Lizelle then delayed her chemo as she wanted to undergo fertility treatment first to freeze embryos for a later pregnancy. “We already have a beautiful, 19 month old little boy, but we desperately want him to have a sibling.”

On 13 March 2014 Lizelle received a forwarded email from a friend of mine with an article about Dalene Richter using Annique products while going through chemo for breast cancer. This article really spoke to Lizelle and she decided to contact Magda Tibshraeny from Kirkwood, the Annique consultant who had distributed the email.

“This is where my walk with Annique started...I contacted Magda and told her about my situation and she put me in touch with her sister Rika. Between the two of them they did research and suggested various products that they felt would benefit me during this trying time.”

Lizelle’s main concern was losing her hair. She confessed that she would be able to handle all the other side effects, but that losing her hair for the second time would be devastating.

She purchased Opti-Derm, BioHarmony, OptiClear, OptiEnergy and Hair Rescue and started using the vitamin supplements the week before chemo, taking 2 of each per day. She started using the Hair Rescue the day of her first chemo.

“Next week Thursday I will have my sixth and final chemo. YAY!!! I still have my hair thanks to the use of cold caps and my Annique products. And I haven't missed a single chemo! I honestly believe that my Annique products have helped me cruise through chemo with minimal side effects. I continued working through chemo, had enough energy to spend time with my little boy and husband and live life as per "normal”. I will forever be grateful to Magda and Rika for the time and effort they put in to assisting me through this experience...”

Note from Magda:

“Thank you, Lizelle, for sharing your story and being such a wonderful inspiration to me and others in the same position like you. Your positive outlook on life and the willingness to do everything humanly possible sets an example of courage and love. Your story does not only encourage me to stay positive no matter what, but also confirms that Annique products, together with trusting our heavenly Father, help us to take responsibility for our health and wellbeing!

What a wonderful privilege to be part of a company who has products that can help people like Lizelle! I am proud to be associated with Annique where the health and beauty of people is the primary focus and pride. “

Note from Rika:

“When I spoke to Lizelle for the first time, I heard I winner on the other side of the telephone, who was not prepared to go without a “fight”. The positive attitude she expressed with every interaction we had, is probably one of my highlights this year. It taught me to stand tall when things go wrong and never give up. Lizelle took action and did not for one moment lose focus. Well done Lizelle for taking the courage to stand tall. Thank you Annique for putting a world class product on the market to assist our community in health and beauty and therefore improving lives. Aan my hemelse Pa: Dankie dat U my lewe verryk het met hierdie Hemelse ondervinding”
